Now in its fourth year, the CSCW Reviewer Mentor Program creates an
opportunity for students to participate in the CSCW review process while
getting guidance from senior reviewers. The idea is that a small pool of
students within the CSCW field are matched with CSCW review mentors, who
agree to support the student in writing good reviews.

*
*

This has three purposes:

*
*

1. PC members who choose a student reviewer within the mentor program
will know that the student will do a good review, since the mentor will
see to that.

*
*

2. Students will have the opportunity to get feedback and discuss the
reviewing process with the mentor and therefore become a better reviewer.

*
*

3. The students will become expert reviewers for future conferences!

*
*

For the past four years, our community has helped students learn how to
write high-quality reviews. Students are very interested to serve as
reviewers. Therefore, we need many mentors!

*
*

We request you to volunteer to mentor one or more students for CSCW 2019.

Please email us at [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]>to volunteer, or to ask
questions. Please include any limitations that are necessary. For
example, can you mentor three students, or only one? What disciplines
would you be comfortable to mentor? What else do we need to know to make
a good assignment for you?

*
*

We hope to match student applicants to mentors as soon as we receive
their applications. Therefore, we hope that you will reply to us soon.
This will give you and your student more time to become acquainted.

*
*

Please also forward this Call for Mentors to colleagues who, in your
estimation, would be good mentors for CSCW students.

*
*

Kind regards,

*
*
