Pervasive computing envisages a world of communicating miniature
devices, sensors and actuators to provide ambient and personalised
services. Building on the current technology, it is ready for a wide
range of applications that support and gradually change our everyday
life. The goal of ICPCA2008 is to further explore both theoretical
and practical issues in pervasive computing. It also aims to foster
the exchange of ideas and collaboration for both researchers and
practitioners. The organising committee is soliciting paper
submissions for the main conference and its special tracks.

Following on the success of previous conferences in the series held
in Urmqi, China (August 2006) and Birmingham, UK (July 2007), the
3rd International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Applications
(ICPCA2008) features one generic technical track as well as five
special interest tracks.

--------------------------------------------------
*Topics*

Interested topics include (but are not limited to):

  * Software infrastructure, middleware and frameworks for pervasive
computing
  * Mobile and Wearable Computing
  * Wireless Networks and Communications for Pervasive Computing
  * The Semantic Web and Pervasive Computing
  * Cross-Media for Pervasive Computing
  * The Data Grid and Pervasive Computing
  * Data and knowledge management for Pervasive Computing
  * HCI Technologies for Pervasive Computing
  * Security, Trust, Privacy, and other Socio-technical Issues in
Pervasive Computing
  * Innovative Applications of Pervasive Computing and case studies

All papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the ICPCA2008
programme committee and selected reviewers. Accepted ICPCA2008 papers
will be included in IEEE Xplore digital library and are EI-indexed. In
addition to technical papers, ICPCA2008 will include keynote speeches,
late breaking results, poster presentations, and demonstrations.

--------------------------------------------------
*Submission of Papers*

All papers must be unpublished and should not be under simultaneous
review for any other conferences and workshops. Papers must be
written in English and formatted according to the IEEE conference
proceedings. Research papers should be no more than six pages
including references and illustrations. Position papers and system
demos are also welcome. Electronic submissions in PDF or PS format
are recommended.

--------------------------------------------------
*Publication*

All submitted papers will be reviewed by programme committee members
and selected based on their originality, significance, relevance,
and clarity of presentation. Accepted papers will be published in
the IEEE categorized conference proceedings (see ICPCA2008 website
for author instruction). Authors of selected papers will be invited
to submit a revised and expanded version of their papers to be
considered for publication in special issues of well-known
international journals.

--------------------------------------------------
*Special Tracks*

http://www.icpca.bcu.ac.uk/tracks.html

A number of special-track sessions will be held in parallel with the
general conference. Special tracks are an integral part of ICPCA2008
offering researchers in focused areas the forum for wide interaction
and collaboration. For paper submissions to a special track, authors
should contact the track chair directly or following the link from
main ICPCA2008 web page. The following special tracks have been
accepted for ICPCA2008:
