The 3rd EAI International Conference on

Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Education

16-18 October2019, Braga, Portugal

The central theme of the TIE 2019 Conference is innovation, with a special
focus on emerging *technologies for education*, creativity, *entertainment*
, *well-being*, *arts*, and*business development*. In addition, it aims at
promoting new venture creation opportunities that emerge from these
innovations, as well as innovation methods that target these core subjects.
The conference aims to provide a platform where academics and practitioners
from cross-disciplinary fields such as education, artistic creation,
creative industries, and business can come together and collaborate. The
event will encourage the exploration of the potential synergies that may
arise from pooling the different perspectives.



*Scope & Topics*

In its third edition of 2019, the *Special Focus*of the conferencelies
on *applied
storytelling*, *technological innovations for storytelling*, *storytelling
systems for education*, as well as *systems that foster narrative creation*,
in the context of *entrepreneurship*and *business*. Submissions in these
areas are particularly welcome. Other themes of interest include, but are
not limited to:

   - Applied Digital Art
   - Interactive Systems for Education, Well Being, or Entertainment
   - Positive Computing and Well Being
   - Engaging and Playful Tangible Interfaces
   - Design of Playful Interactions
   - Mixed Reality Games and Toys
   - Creativity and Games
   - Creativity and AR/VR/XR
   - Virtual Agents for Educational and Social Simulations
   - Creative Learning
   - Digital Toys for Learning
   - Digital Media Design and Design Methodologies
   - Innovation Methods for Digital Creativity (Design Fiction, Science
   Fiction Prototyping (SFP), Diegetic Innovation Templating (DiT), etc.)
   - Foresight Innovation and Identifying Opportunities for New
   Product/Future Technologies
   - New Venture Creation in Creative Industries
   - Theoretical Frameworks

We call for paper submissions from different disciplines covering these and
related topics.



*Paper Submissions*

Work in Progress papers should report original ongoing work not previously
published elsewhere and not under consideration for any other conference or
journal. Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process. All
submissions will be evaluated on their originality, significance, quality
of research and writing, as well as its contribution to the conference
program diversity. Work in Progress must provide sufficient details about
the nature of the work, cite relevant published research, highlight novel
aspects of the work, illustrate the current status of the work and indicate
future directions.

Accepted Work in Progress papers will be presented in the form of a poster
in the interactive poster session, authors may also present a demo of their
work. Selected submissions will be invited to present the work in one of
the paper tracks as a short presentation.



All submissions should be written in English and must follow the Springer
formatting guidelines (see Author’s Kit section). Previously published work
may not be submitted, nor may the work be concurrently submitted to any
other conference or journal. Such papers will be desk rejected. Papers
should be submitted through EAI Confy system

*Publication*

All accepted papers will be published as conference proceedings by Springer
USA and made available through the Springer Digital Library, one of the
world’s largest scientific libraries. Proceedings will be submitted for
inclusion in leading indexing services, Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science,
Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital
Library (EUDL).

Submission Deadline:           10 July 2019
Notification Deadline:             20 August 2019
Camera Ready Deadline:      15 September 2019
Conference:                           16-18 October 2019
