The Master of Design, housed in the Myron Ullman Jr. School of Design
at the College of Design Architecture Art and Planning, University of
Cincinnati, is currently seeking applicants for the Fall 2018
semester.


Application deadline: February 1, 2018


The 2-year Master of Design graduate program explores design in a
multidisciplinary setting across Industrial Design, Communication
Design and Fashion Design. The program is rooted in an evidence-based
design approach promoting the valuable need for strategy, and research
methods for advancing the successful understanding of human behaviors,
places and things, for design opportunities in the context of complex
sociocultural, environmental and material challenges.


DAAP's Master of Design program was ranked 6th in the nation by U.S.
News and World Report and 4th in the US by DesignIntelligence in their
2016 survey of design employers across the nation.


Assistantships may be available per request, review and placement opportunities.


Eligibility and How to Apply:

- Applications are online through the Graduate School Website:
Graduate School Admissions.
- The application deadline is February 1 of each year, to begin
graduate studies the following August.
- Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in design or a related
field from an accredited college or university.
- A 3.0 undergraduate grade point average (in a 4.0 grading system) is required.
- Applicants with English as a second language must have a score of
570 (paper-based) or 230 (computer-based) or 88 (Internet-based) on
the Test of English as a second language (TOEFL). The International
English Language Testing System (IELTS) is also accepted. For IELTS,
an overall band score of 6.5 is needed.
- Have at least two years of professional experience in design
practice or teaching. Note: Internships and sponsored projects can
count towards this time.
- Complete all application forms, transcripts and submit the following
additional materials: a curriculum vitae, a letter of intent, a
portfolio that includes 12-15 examples of visual work and three
personal references.
