Call for workshop proposals:

7th International Conference on Interaction Design and Children (IDC 08)
June 11-13, 2008, Chicago, USA
http://idc08.northwestern.edu/index.php

Due date for workshop proposals: January 7, 2008
http://idc08.northwestern.edu/workshops.php

Workshops are a chance for members of a community with common interests
to meet in the context of a focused and interactive discussion. If you
are working in an emerging area in interaction design for children,
consider organizing a workshop. They are an opportunity to move the
field forward and build community. IDC welcomes workshops on any topic
in interaction design for children, but particularly solicits proposals
on workshops concerning the diversity of childhood and designing for
children (children from developing nations, very young children, issues
of race, gender and ethnicity).

Each workshop should generate ideas that give the IDC community a new,
organized way of thinking about the topic, or ideas that suggest
promising directions for future research. Some workshops result in
edited books or special issues of journals. In any case, papers from the
workshop will be published in the conference proceedings, and at the ACM
digital library, and the best papers will be selected for presentation
during the main conference.

The IDC workshops will be held on June 11th, the day before the main
conference begins. Workshops may last a half-day (4 hours, including a
break) or an entire day (8 hours, including 2 breaks). Please specify
the length of your proposed workshop.

Workshops typically have 10-15 participants, and in order to maximize
impact of the workshops, we will be evaluating the likelihood that a
particular workshop will be of broad interest. You can therefore
increase the chances of your workshop submission being accepted by
listing the names of potential participants. Please note if any of those
participants have indicated their willingness and ability to attend.
