"Mobile Learning and Creativity Workshop (MLCW12): Fostering Creative Learning with Mobile Technologies"

Website: http://cloudworks.ac.uk/cloudscape/view/2412
Workshop at EC-TEL2012 http://ec-tel.eu/ Saarbrücken/Germany
(European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning)
Workshop: September/19, 2012 (9am-3pm)

Mobile Learning and Creativity Workshop (MLCW12) is a full-day workshop devoted to sharing and designing innovative approaches and solutions aimed fostering creative learning with mobile technologies such as iPads, smartphones or other 'online surf plates'. The workshop is looking for ideas, concepts and application related to the following questions: How to design 'learning to be creative' when the answer to a problem is not known? (Gerhard Fischer, 2011). What are the possibilities of mobile devices for teaching and learning?

We invite students, educators, instructional designers, teachers, researchers, practitioners and developers to share and create innovative, creative mobile learning scenarios and applications utilizing multiple perspectives and collective intelligence of the participants.

The workshop is composed of the morning event during which innovative ideas to fostering creative mobile learning will be presented in the Pecha Kucha<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pecha_Kucha> format to ignite creative thinking and inspire the collaborative development of future mobile learning scenarios and applications during the afternoon session. This format aims at encouraging joint design of creative mobile learning while utilizing a mix of different creativity techniques and mobile media. Based on the underpinnings of design-based research, we start with an open concept of connective, social creativity with the aim to design mobile learning environments and applications of tomorrow. The workshop will be recorded and live streamed with the Panopto software<http://www.panopto.com/>. For more information about the format of the workshop please see the section at the bottom of the page.
