GROUP 2014 - Call for WORKING PAPERS

deadline: 20 August 2014
notification: 5 September 2014
submission email: [log in to unmask]

Working papers (WPs) are contributions in which the authors are working
towards a journal submission and would like to discuss their work with
their colleagues at GROUP. Our goal is to broaden the conversations at
GROUP, with a format that may appeal to colleagues whose primary
publications are in journals, rather than conference papers.

WPs will not published in the conference proceedings, but will be
distributed in a paper based conference supplement at the GROUP conference
for the attendees only. Therefore, you are free to seek formal publication
of draft journal submissions that appears in a WP. Working papers will be
reviewed by the WPs co-chairs and members of the GROUP Program Committee.
Authors will not be asked to do revisions; all decisions will be made
based on the submission "as-is". We hope to offer you a *lightweight*
process, to expand the GROUP community and discussions.

Accepted WPs, will be allocated a 10 min slot to present their work, with
the goal of prompting discussion among GROUP community about the the work,
supporting the authors moving the paper forward for the journal
publication. The primary acceptance criteria for WPs is that the work be
interesting, fascinating, surprising, and have a high probability of
prompting good and interesting debates.

WP submissions should be in the ECSCW proceedings template format (
https://ecscw2013.cs.ucy.ac.cy/templates.zip). Submissions, however, need
not follow the citation style of ECSCW. This is to simplify submission as
WP, but also to the intended journal. WP submissions should be approx. 12
pages in the ECSCW format. The page limit will, however, not be enforced
to allow authors to submit the most current version of their future
journal submission.

We look forward to learning more about your work!

Stephan Lukosch, Myriam Lewkowicz, Michael Muller
