Call for student volunteers DIS2020

The ACM conference on Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) is the premier, international arena where designers, artists, psychologists, user experience researchers, systems engineers and many more come together to debate and shape the future of interactive systems design and practice. The theme for DIS 2020, is “More than Human-Centred Design”. The aim of the theme is to rethink the research and contributions we make in design and HCI, by investigating non-humanist or posthumanist alternatives. To ensure a successful DIS2020 conference, student volunteers (SVs) are essential. Being an SV provides a unique opportunity to contribute to organizing a conference as well to interact closely with DIS contributors, attendees, and your peers. In return for your work, you will get a full conference pass providing you access to all the paper sessions, the design exhibition, demos, and social events. Lunch will be partially covered up to a certain amount. Note that other meals, additional workshop registration fees and hotel expenses are not covered by the SV benefits. Check the benefits section for more details.

Becoming a volunteer:

To become a volunteer, you must have had student status for at least one semester during the academic year before DIS. That means you could have been enrolled as an undergraduate, masters, or doctoral student in the academic year of 2019-2020. Applicants to DIS SVs will be selected through a random lottery system at chisv.org<http://chisv.org/>. We expect to accept up to 30 SVs for DIS2020.

DIS2020 will take place in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain necessary travel visas if required. To apply, no previous experience is required, but we are looking for people who are friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable.
