CAN YOU HEAR US

Your last opportunity to take part in this exciting three-day
event about mobile communications and the excluded user.
14 - 16 June 2000

Guest speakers include:
  Alan Newell Applied Computing Dundee,
Lindsay Etchell of the Research Institute for Consumer
Affairs relating to the elderly and disabled.

Many potential users are excluded from using mobile
communications technology such as elderly people, people with
sensory and motor disabilities and those with limited limb
movement.

The 'Can You Hear Us' laboratory is taking place from midday
Wednesday 14 - 16 June 2000 at Saltaire, Bradford, Yorkshire.

This interdisciplinary design laboratory will take a fresh
look into research approaches relating to improving access to
mobile communications technology from a user perspective.

'Can You Hear Us' is aiming to attract a mix of designers,
technologists, HCI researchers and user advocates.

This innovative and exciting laboratory format is designed to
allow multi-disciplined team participation that will conclude
on the last morning in the presentation of three dimensional
concepts generated by the teams over the previous day and a
half. A supporting team of designers and model making
expertise will be available to each group to help them
realise their ideas.

Flexible rates are available for user groups and their
advocates. Further details, booking form and programme
available at:
