"Advanced Interaction Techniques: Wearable Device Interface Design"
A special issue of Multimodal Technologies and Interaction <https://www.mdpi.com/journal/mti> (ISSN 2414-4088). https://www.mdpi.com/si/19090 <https://www.mdpi.com/si/19090>
Deadline for manuscript submissions: 26 April 2019

Dear Colleagues,

Recent years have witnessed major advances in wearable technologies in various form factors, including head-worn displays, smartwatches, bracelets and jewellery. These devices are becoming increasing popular for daily information tasks due to the advantages in small form factor, mobility, and availability. However, despite their promising benefits, creating usable wearables devices still faces numerous challenges due to their limited interaction capabilities.

This Special Issue aims to provide a collection of high quality research results related to advanced interaction techniques for wearable devices. We welcome contributions related to HCI technology, experience, methodology, and theory. This includes:

Novel devices and techniques: The design, development and evaluation of novel devices and techniques that create valuable new interactive capabilities for wearable devices
Applications and experiences: Descriptions of the design, empirical study of interactive applications, or analysis of usage trends that leverage wearable devices.
Theories and models: theory with clearly motivated relevance to the design or study of wearable interfaces; taxonomies of design or devices.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com <https://www.mdpi.com/>. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors <https://www.mdpi.com/journal/mti/instructions> page. Multimodal Technologies and Interaction <https://www.mdpi.com/journal/mti/> is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors <https://www.mdpi.com/journal/mti/instructions> page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) <https://www.mdpi.com/about/apc/> is waived for well-prepared manuscripts submitted to this issue. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service <https://www.mdpi.com/authors/english> prior to publication or during author revisions.
