     SHISE - Smart Humans in Smart Environments

****************************************************

Special Track at FLAIRS-21, Miami, Florida, 15-17 May 2008

see: http://www.cs.umanitoba.ca/~ckemke/SHISE-08/
and: http://www.flairs-21.info

Description
===========
In this Special Track, we will investigate methods of analyzing and
producing intelligent behaviour occurring in the interaction between
humans and technology in their environment. New developments in
ubiquitous, pervasive computing, sensor networks, mobile agents, smart
homes, on one side, and the increasing use of sophisticated interaction
methods between humans and these technologies, on the other side, are at
the core of this investigation. Compared to other conferences and
workshops, which concentrate on technical issues related to ubiquitous
environments, we want to focus specifically on intelligent behaviours
involved in the interaction between humans and such environments.

We consider both sides in this investigation: humans exposing
intelligent behaviours, to which an environment has to react and respond
properly, and intelligent technical systems, which exhibit human-like
capabilities e.g. in communication, observation, acting, and learning.

Topic Areas
===========
     * Models and Modalities of Interaction
           o speech and language as interaction medium
