Hello -

Due to several requests and some technical difficulties on
our end, we have decided to extend the DARE'2000 paper
deadline until 1 December 1999.

Note that the deadline for position papers is still 7 January.

The goal of DARE'2000 is to establish a rich, interdisciplinary foundation
and to inspire new directions for augmented reality research and design.

Augmented reality attempts to bridge the gap between physical and
computational worlds, linking real-world objects and environments to the
computer and embodying computer-based information in physical forms.
DARE '2000 will bring together professional designers, augmented reality
researchers, and empirical social scientists who seek to learn from each
other and push the limits of augmented reality.

The format includes some elements of a traditional conference, with
presentation and publication of original research papers, and some
elements of a design workshop, with multidisciplinary subgroups
collaborating on the design of augmented reality prototypes.
Design awards will be presented at the end of the conference for
the most innovative ideas. The best contributions will be published in a book.
