*Dear colleagues,*

*

The MDPI Journal Computers is publishing a special issue on SeatedVR
<https://www.mdpi.com/journal/computers/special_issues/seated-vr>. The
deadline for the manuscript submissions is the 15th of September 2020.
Find below the call for papers:

Many users commonly use VR/AR while being seated - even in situations
where the content creators might have expected them to stand. However,
sitting often is not recognized as a unique characteristic and not
explicitly addressed or taken into consideration as potentially
affecting user experience and performance . Often being seatedĀ  is
assumed as a given instead of being an explicit design decision that is
consciously made. Furthermore, whenever being seated really is a
choosable option, it might look limiting only at first glance, and can
provide various advantages or opportunities at a second glance.

We are inviting original research work covering novel theories and
experiments, innovative methods, and meaningful applications that can
potentially lead to significant advances in Seated Virtual Reality. The
main topics include, but are not limited to

  *

    Seated VR/AR;

  *

    Working environments;

  *

    Locomotion;

  *

    3DUI design;

  *

    Perception, immersion, presence;

  *

    Cybersickness;

  *

    Gaming, entertainment;

  *

    Devices;

  *

    Lazy UIs.

Of particular interest are articles that critically explore,
investigate, review, or propose potential effects of being seated inĀ
contexts such as virtual, mixed, and augmented reality.
