		     Call for Real-World Stories
Managing Deviant Behavior in Online Communities
			   Due: April 20th
		       Email: [log in to unmask]

At CHI this year, we'll be repeating the panel first held in 1994
"Managing Deviant Behavior in Online Communities." At the event, we'd
like to discuss real scenarios. Have you had to manage online
behavior? Did you have to decide what was appropriate? Did you find
you had to make delicate decisions balancing one person's free speech
and another person's right to be left alone? Have you had to make
policy decisions that affect the tone or mood of a site? Have you had
to make financial decisions--how much time can we afford to spend
dealing with problems? Have you had to redesign a site to try to
prevent problems?

If you have a story/dilemma to share, the panel would like to debate
it at the conference! Please remove identifying details about the
site or specific people from your write-up. Email experiences to
[log in to unmask] by 4/20.

Look forward to hearing (and debating) your stories!

Sincerely,

Amy Bruckman, College of Computing, Georgia Tech (organizer)
Catalina Danis, IBM TJ Watson Labs
Cliff Lampe, Michigan State University
Janet Sternberg, Fordham University
Chris Waldron, Cartoon Network New Media
