"Looking into the Future: Weaving the Threads of Vehicle Automation" One-day workshop at CHI'19, May 2019, Glasgow, UK
This workshop aims to bring a diverse group of researchers and practitioners together to discuss human-vehicle interaction in automated vehicles. Its focus is on research and designs that have been done in areas where humans interact directly or indirectly with automated vehicles.
To participate a 2-4 pages paper in CHI extended abstract format has to be submitted to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
Accepted papers will be presented at the workshop in Pecha Kucha style (around 10 minutes including questions). Position papers should cover a topic that is relevant to the workshop:
o Interaction with automated vehicles
o Shared control and authority
o Control transition (takeover & handover)
o Mixed traffic scenarios
o Interaction between cyclists and pedestrians and automated vehicles
o Mode and situation awareness
o Vehicle-infrastructure interaction
o Legal issues and legislation
o Theories and research methods
o Interaction design and modalities
o Acceptance, trust and complacency
o Economical aspects
The number of participants is limited to 20 people. Applications and position papers will be reviewed by the workshop organizers and evaluated based on their quality, novelty, and fit to the workshop theme.
The author of an accepted paper/application is required to attend the workshop and register for both the workshop and for at least one day of the main conference.
