ESF COST action IC0904 – TwinTide (http://www.twintide.org/) in
collaboration with SIGCHI Cyprus (http://cyprus.acm.org/) is
organizing the 1st European Workshop on HCI Design and Evaluation: The
influence of domains. The workshop will take place at the Apollonia
Beach Hotel (http://bit.ly/fnewyy) in Limassol, Cyprus on the 8th of
April 2011. Although registration is FREE participants need to
register using the workshop website by 10 March 2011.

Keynote speakers: Prof. Alistair Sutcliffe (University of Manchester),
Davide Rocchesso (UAV University of Venice)

The broad theme of the workshop is the influence of domain on Human
Computer Interaction design and evaluation.

Detailed research topics of interest for this workshop include, but
are not limited to:

* Current use of design and evaluation methods
* Sector-unique design and evaluation methodologies
* Design and evaluation conceptual models and practical protocols
* Transdisciplinary metaphors, methods, and models
* Transferability of HCI design and evaluation methods to other sectors
* Critical reviews of quality attributes and software standards
currently prioritized in sector-based HCI design and evaluation
methods.
* Ways of HCI design and evaluation method selection, based on domain attributes
* Empirical evaluations by quantitative and qualitative methods of
domain-specific HCI methods
* Case studies and ethnographic analyses
* Other related topics

Workshop Format

This workshop will have an interactive format in which all
participants will exchange ideas and build knowledge together. The
language of the conference is English. Please visit the workshop web

local accommodation, registration and so forth.

Submission should be in the form of a 4-page paper prepared in ACM
SIGCHI Extended Abstracts format and thoroughly copy-edited.
Submissions are not anonymous and should include all author names,
affiliations, and contact information.

All submissions will be reviewed by an international program
committee. All accepted papers will be collected in the official
conference proceedings (with ISBN) and will also be permanently
available for download on the workshop website.
