          Call for Workshop Papers
    Future Mobile User Interfaces 2015
              (ACM MobiSys 2015)

               Florence, Italy
                 May 18, 2015

Submissions due (extended): March 13, 2015

*** OVERVIEW ***

This workshop aims to provoke thoughts about the future of mobile
interfaces. Participants will be given a chance to present their ideas and
create new concepts as part of a participatory activity. They will also
engage in a conversation looking at what the future holds and how research
can be shaped in the coming years.

Mobile user interfaces have always been constrained by the shape of mobile
devices and the small size of mobile displays. However in recent years, we
have seen the emergence of devices with new form factors, including
foldable screens or even vibro-tactile displays. These new devices include
various sensors allowing for novel types of input and output. This workshop
will address innovations in terms of user interaction with mobile and
wearable devices, as well as with the applications these innovations enable.

This workshop brings together researchers and practitioners to explore the
future of mobile user interfaces. We expect to discuss issues around
design, software and hardware and leverage everyone’s expertise to surface
potential solutions for effective interaction with mobile devices. We will
encourage the exchange of research results and ideas and help catalyze
future research endeavors.

We invite submissions on the following topics (but not limited to):
Future of interaction with mobile devices
New contexts of interaction
New form factors for mobile devices
Scenarios for which new mobile interfaces are needed
Novel technologies enabling new interaction styles
Issues and opportunities in mobile and wearable computing

We invite workshop papers of 2-3 pages in the MobiSys 2015 format.
Submissions will be selected based on originality, quality, and ability to
promote discussion during the workshop and will be published by ACM.
