The issue of ACM Transactions on CHI that was recently published and
the issue that will come out very soon together comprise a 10-article
special issue on human-computer interaction in the new millenium
edited by Jack Carroll. We owe thanks to the authors, to Jack, and to
the many reviewers who contributed to this impressive compilation. It
was organized in concert with the journal HCI, which is also
publishing a series of articles commemorating this transition

In the coming months, ACM TOCHI will also publish special issues on
HCI and mobile computing and on HCI and collaborative virtual
environments. In addition, some articles in TOCHI will take advantage
of an opportunity provided by ACM to publish ancillary material on
the digital library web site -- survey forms, examples of code, raw
data: material that is not included in published papers but which
might be of interest to some readers.

Thanks to the outstanding work of our Information Director Ken
Anderson and ACM publication manager George Criscione, this is a
great time to be reading articles in, and contributing articles to,
ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction.

On behalf of the Editorial Board: Jack Carroll, Joelle Coutaz, Prasun
Dewan, Paul Dourish, Wayne Gray, Jim Hollan, Scott Hudson, Hiroshi
Ishii, Rob Jacob, Robin Jeffries, Javier Lerch, Jock Mackinlay, Allan
MacLean, Brad Myers, Bonnie Nardi and Randy Pausch
