Researchers are invited to propose workshops to be held at OzCHI 2018, on 4th December in Melbourne, Australia. OzCHI workshops aim to bring together researchers in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) to engage with specific topics of interest. We welcome workshops on HCI methods, practices, and other emerging areas of interest. Organizers of accepted workshops will be required to solicit position papers and accept responsibility for conducting the workshop.

WORKSHOP SUBMISSIONS

Submissions should include:
* A 150 word abstract which, if your proposal is successful, will be used to advertise your workshop on the OZCHI website.
* A motivation and justification for the workshop, citing any relevant literature.
* A description of the participants you would expect for your workshop: what should they hope to get out of your workshop; are they drawn from industry or academia or both?
* Brief (150 word maximum) bio of each workshop organizer.
* A workshop schedule with room/layout requirements.

Authors may wish to look at previous successful workshop proposals such as http://www.ozchi.org/2017/accepted_workshops/ .

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Submissions to the workshops program should be formatted in the SIGCHI proceedings template found at https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template. Submissions should be in PDF format. With the final submission authors will be required to upload both the Word and PDF files.

SUBMISSION

Submissions should be made to EasyChair. This link will be available at http://www.ozchi.org/2018/call/workshops.html

REVIEW PROCESS

Workshop proposals will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers. Selection will consider the quality of the proposal and its potential to attract participants, while avoiding overlap.

IMPORTANT DATES

16th July: Workshop proposal submissions due
31st July: Workshop proposal notifications sent
4th December: Workshops conducted

WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION

Organisers of accepted workshops should encourage participation and solicit position papers by widely advertising their workshop. Potential workshop participants submit a position paper to the organisers in the format specified by organisers. Workshop organisers will review position papers using their own criteria, and determining the final list of attendees is the responsibility of workshop organisers. Organisers should aim for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 25 participants. Workshops with low participant numbers may be cancelled. At least one author of each accepted position paper must attend the workshop. Attendees (organisers and participants) will need to pay the workshop participation fee.

PROCEEDINGS

Successful proposals will be included in the OZCHI proceedings in the ACM digital library. Position papers will not be included. However organizers are encouraged to generate their own proceedings if they wish to do so.

WORKSHOP CHAIRS

* Laurianne Sitbon, Queensland University of Technology
* Greg Wadley, The University of Melbourne
* Melissa Rogerson, The University of Melbourne
