Dear List Members,

Hoping this may be of interest to you, allow us to announce the MAPTRAITS Challenge below.

MAPTRAITS'14 — Call for Papers

1st International Audio/Visual Mapping Personality Traits Challenge and Workshop

http://emotion-research.net/sigs/speech-sig/maptraits

in conjunction with the ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI 2014), Istanbul , Turkey, 12 November 2014
____________________________________________________________

The Mapping Personality Traits Challenge and Workshop (MAPTRAITS) is a competition event aimed at the comparison of signal processing and machine learning methods for automatic visual, vocal and/or audio-visual analysis of traits and social dimensions. The MAPTRAITS'14 challenge aims to bring forth existing efforts and major accomplishments in modelling and analysis of personality and social traits in both discrete and continuous time and/or space, while focusing on current trends and pushing the state of the art in the field to new and novel future directions.

There will be two sub-challenges: (1) Quantized trait recognition and (2) Continuous trait prediction. Data consists of audio-visual interaction clips that have been assessed by multiple raters along the five dimensions of the BF model, namely, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness, and the four additional dimensions of engagement, facial attractiveness, vocal attractiveness, and likability.

The full Call for Participation, together with more information about the mechanics of the challenge, can be found on the emotion-research portal:

http://emotion-research.net/sigs/speech-sig/maptraits.

The participation and registration form can be downloaded from:
