CALL FOR PAPERS:
Internet of Wearable Things (IoWT)
*** Submission deadline: September 1st, 2015 ***

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION:
-------------------------------------------

The Internet of Wearable Things (IoWT) workshop is the first workshop that is aimed at focusing on wearable-computing and its intersection with the IoT for the creation of innovative enterprise solutions. The workshop will be hosted by the 2nd EAI International Conference on IoT as a Service (IoTaaS) conference (http://iotaas.org/2015/show/home) that will be co-located with the IoT360 Summit (http://iot-360.eu/2015/). We invite both researchers and practitioners interested in wearable-computing based enterprise applications, including also the interesting interplay between this emerging field and the more mature mobile and ubiquitous computing. The blending together of these capabilities enables the creation of new solutions allowing a rich collection of data sources, a more intimate and timely interaction with the user, and high level of situational awareness. This can possibly be the basis for newly created business services. From the scientific point of view, the enablement of new wearable-based solutions requires synergy among multiple disciplines, such as Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Human-Computer Interaction, Data and Knowledge Representation, Information Visualization, Computational Neurosciences, and Education. From the practical point of view, it is critical to not only study the theoretical foundations but also accumulate and generalize the knowledge that is gathered by industry in building corresponding technological infrastructures, methods, and tools to ease the development and operation of wearable-centric solutions across different markets (e.g., wellness & healthcare, banking, insurance, security & safety, transportation).
In this workshop, we invite researchers and practitioners from the corresponding fields to submit papers that investigate the different perspectives underlying the most recent advances pertaining to the intersection between wearable-enabled computing and the IoT, with a focus on enabling enterprise innovation. We aim at discussing the current state of ongoing research, novel approaches, with intention to also provide a stimulating focused platform for sharing practical experiences and business models (e.g., bring your own wearable device).

PAPER SUBMISSION:
-----------------------

Papers should be up to 8 pages in length. All submissions must be formatted using the Springer LNICST Authors' Kit (details on http://iotaas.org/2015/show/authors-kit) and submitted via the EAI Confy system (http://confy.eai.eu/#conftrack-overview/track/907/cid/52052). All submitted papers will be reviewed by the workshop Program Committee. Accepted papers may be published online at the conference web site.
Accepted workshop papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings. Best workshop paper publications may be included in various Transactions or other journals.Submission implies that at least one author will register and attend the conference if the paper is accepted.
