***Call for Papers: Workshop on Mood Sensing In-the-Wild***

in conjunction with ACM UbiComp 2018
Singapore
July 20, 2018 - Submission Deadline
October 12, 2018 - Workshop Date

Website: https://msit2018.wordpress.com/ <https://msit2018.wordpress.com/>

***Scope of the Workshop***
Mood plays an important role in individuals’ daily lives as well as it is a key criteria to assess one’s mental well-being. The "Workshop on Mood Sensing In-the-Wild" focuses on using ubiquitous and wearable technology for sensing people’s mood with the future prospect of building smarter ubiquitous and wearable technology, that may also provide timely information to users interested in this information.

***Objectives***
The main objective of the workshop is to provide a shared forum for researchers interested in mood sensing using ubiquitous and wearable technology. We believe that this workshop will be beneficial to its attendees as it entails sharing knowledge, experience reports, novel ideas and methods for detecting human mood under unconstrained in vivo settings. The long term objective of this workshop is to encourage UbiComp community's interest in this research area.

***Topics of interest***
This workshop will bring together academic researchers to identify and discuss challenges in building mood detection techniques using ubiquitous and wearable technology. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

Sensing technologies: design, architecture, usage and evaluation of ubiquitous and wearable technologies for mood detection.
Applications: design and/or study of how applications, developed for ubiquitous and wearable technologies, can be used for mood detection.
Methodologies and tools: new methods and tools that are applied on studies or building novel ubiquitous and wearable technologies targeted for mood detection.
Theories and models: critical analysis or organising theory with relevance to the design or study of ubiquitous and wearable technologies targeted for mood detection.
Experiences: empirical investigations of the use of new or existing technologies that can potentially motivate future mood detection ubiquitous and wearable systems.
Societal implications: empirical reasoning and conclusions about the role of mood detecting ubiquitous and wearable technologies in human society.

***Important dates***
Deadline for submissions: July 20, 2018
Feedback to authors: July 31, 2018
       Camera-ready submissions: August 14, 2018

***Submission instructions***
All accepted manuscripts will be included in the ACM Digital Library and supplemental proceedings of the main conference. All workshop papers must be up to 6 pages long (incl. references) in the SIGCHI Extended Abstract archival format, and be ready for inclusion into ACM Digital Library and the supplementary proceedings by the 14 August, 2018.

Send your paper to the organisers at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> with "Workshop submission" as the email subject. The papers will be peer-reviewed accordingly for their significance to the overall workshop themes by the technical program committee of the workshop.
