Workshop on Intelligent Interfaces for Ubiquitous and Smart Learning -
*SmartLearn 2017* (http://smartlearn.dibris.unige.it/)
in conjunction with the 22nd ACM International Conference on Intelligent
User Interfaces - IUI 2017 (http://iui.acm.org/2017/),
March 13-16, 2017, Limassol, Cyprus.
IMPORTANT DATES
---------------
*Paper Submission Extended*:*19 December 2016 *AoE (Anywhere on Earth)
Notification of authors: 8 January 2017
Camera-ready version due: 13 January 2017
Workshop date: 13 March 2017
DESCRIPTION
------------
New technologies are changing the way we learn and teach. Emerging
technologies such as social semantic web, cloud computing, and the
growing popularity of mobile devices, embedded devices and adaptive
context-aware technologies are leading to a paradigm shift in the way
educational services are provided towards a "smart learning". Mobile and
smart learning environments allow for accessing and interacting with
digital resources in learning systems anytime and anywhere with
intelligent, adaptive and personalized guidance, support and suggestions.
Through technologies and approaches such as ubiquitous and adaptive
learning, learning becomes personalized, flexible, and suitable to meet
diverse and rapidly changing technologies, environments and learner
needs, while opening unprecedented possibilities for education. The
"Intelligent Interfaces for Ubiquitous and Smart Learning" workshop aims
to bring together researchers from industry and academia to address the
challenges of the intelligent user interfaces and smart learning fields,
discuss new ideas and present their research to the scientific community
in order to enhance the methodologies and techniques for intelligent
learning environments for the 21st century.
TOPICS
-------
We invite submissions that may include the following topics, but are not
limited to:
- intelligent user interfaces for learning
- ubiquitous learning
- adaptive learning
- mobile learning
- social learning
- smart learning
- learning on demand
- continuous learning
- semantic LMS services
- learning as a service
- cloud learning environments

SUBMISSIONS:
-----------------------
Accepted papers will appear in the Proceedings of the IUI conference
that will be published in the ACM Digital Library.
We encourage the submission of original contributions investigating and
studying intelligent interfaces for ubiquitous and smart Learning:
- Full research papers (max 8 pp. in PDF);
- Short papers (4 pp. in PDF) for position papers and
research-in-progress papers.
All submissions must be written in English and contain author names,
affiliations, and email addresses.
Submissions should follow the standard SigCHI format (Microsoft Word and
LaTeX templates are available at
*http://www.acm.org/publications/article-templates/proceedings-template.html/*)
and submitted via EasyChair
(https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=smartlearn2017).
REGISTRATION
------------
The workshop will consist of a part of accepted papers presentation and
a part of discussion among participants. At least one of the authors
should register and take part at the workshop to make the presentation.
