The iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology, will 

be hosting an online Q&A session for prospective doctoral applicants on 

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. EST.  R.S.V.P. to 

[log in to unmask] by Monday, January 26, 2009 to participate. 



The iSchool is an interdisciplinary college within the university that 

focuses on the interplay of people, information, and technology.  Areas of 

interest include human-computer interaction, computer supported 

collaborative learning, children and youth information behaviors, social 

informatics, digital libraries, knowledge management, information 

visualization, and data mining.  Empirical studies both qualitative and 

quantitative are widely used.  Students and faculty come from a wide 

variety of backgrounds, for example, computer science, anthropology, 

psychology, information science, library science, and communication.  The 

broad scope of the Ph.D. in Information Studies prepares students for 

employment in academia and industry.
