For over 25 years, the ACM International Conference on Supporting Group Work (GROUP) has been a premier venue for research on Computer Supported Cooperative Work, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Supported Collaborative Learning and Socio-Technical Studies. The conference integrates work in social science, computer science, engineering, design, values, and other diverse topics related to group work, broadly conceptualized. Group 2018 continues the tradition of being truly international and interdisciplinary in both organizational structure as well as participants.
The GROUP'18 workshop organizing committee is looking for people with great ideas to organize workshops at the 2018 edition of the conference. Workshops provide an informal and focused environment for the information exchange and discussion of Group related topics. We offer half or full day workshop venues.
*** Proposal Format ***
Proposals should include:
- Title
- Abstract (max 150 words)
- Description of workshop theme
- Workshop goals and potential outcomes
- Workshop duration (half or full day)
- Specification of the audio/visual equipment needed
- Expected number of participants, and expected number of submissions.
- Names, affiliation and short bio of each organizer
(Workshop proposals should also include a description of how the workshop will be publicized and a strategy for recruiting and selecting participants).
*** Submission ***
Please submit a maximum of four pages, using the ACM SIGCHI format for submissions. We encourage topics suitable for developing new ideas and deep discussions. Please send submissions directly to [log in to unmask]
*** Workshop Selection ***
We aim to select a diverse set of workshops and avoid having multiple workshops with overlapping themes. Preference will be given to proposals in which activities have been designed to stimulate discussion and interaction among participants. Organizers of accepted workshops will be responsible for producing and distributing a Call for Papers (CfP) describing the event, soliciting submissions, selecting participants, and facilitating the event. Please note that workshop organizers are required to attend the conference and register for the workshop and at least one day of the conference.
*** Publication***
Accepted workshop proposals will be included in the conference proceedings and archived in the ACM Digital Library.
*** Workshops Co-Chairs ***
Thomas Ludwig (University of Siegen)
Libby Hemphill (Illinois Institute of Technology)
