Research opportunities, Yahoo! Labs, Mobile Innovations Group

Yahoo! Labs has a strong academic track record and is currently building new groups in human-computer interaction and related areas. As the research arm of Yahoo!, we are able to contribute to solving general scientific problems as well as supporting the company's product line.

The Mobile Innovations Group at Yahoo! Research is seeking highly qualified candidates for several research opportunities at post-doctoral as well as senior researcher level. The group focuses on contributing to the future of mobile and ubiquitous technology. We will be working on projects ranging from prototyping new mobile experiences and services, over inventing novel interaction techniques and devices, to deep systemic and technical questions regarding tomorrow's interactive computing technology. Our main office is located in Sunnyvale, CA., and we offer relocation support for successful candidates from all over the world.

Successful candidates will contribute to the group's research agenda, as well as work on applied problems of relevance to Yahoo! consumer and advertising products. Openings include time-limited post-doctoral assignments (typically 2 years) as well as staff research positions.

A Ph.D. in computer science or related field is required, as well as a strong publication record in venues such as CHI, UIST, UBICOMP, Mobile HCI, SIGGRAPH, Personal and Ubiquitous Computing, and other similar conferences and journals. Experience with industry research is an advantage.
