Post-doc position available at the Human Interfaces in Information Systems
Laboratory of the Information Science and Technologies Institute in Pisa,


The post-doc will work in a project in the area of Ambient-Assisted Living.
The project aims to extend the time that the elderly can live in their home
environment, increasing their autonomy and assisting them in carrying out
their daily activities through intelligent and intuitive web applications.

The post-doc will contribute to the design and development of a software
platform aimed at:
i. Monitoring the behaviour of the elderly; providing the elderly with the
most important health warnings with persuasive suggestions at the
appropriate time. We will include features to detect any deviations from
expected behaviour, and persuade older people to adopt a healthier
ii. Providing caregivers, but also the elderly who have a certain
familiarity with the technology, with intuitive interaction environments so
that they can easily customize the assistance services and the existing
devices at home (such as heating, security system, ..) in context-dependent


The post-doc has to be younger than 36 years. The position is for two years.
The monthly salary is 1600 euros net.
