The LSRI is a centre of excellence for research in the science and

Computer Science and IT, Education, and Psychology, as well as links to
other disciplines. The University has funded a recent major expansion of
the Institute with new staff, research labs and equipment.

The MSc course offers an opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills
of developing, using or evaluating technology to enhance work, play and
learning. The programme has been designed for graduates from a variety
of backgrounds in order to encourage interdisciplinary approaches to
interaction design, research and development. It will be of most
benefit to those wishing to enhance their careers prospects in sectors
such as new media and technology, entertainment, training, learning or
research.

You will engage with academics working at the forefront of research to
explore concepts and developments in technology-mediated interaction in
the digital age. Core modules include an exploration of innovative
technologies, advanced research methods, interaction design and the
psychological aspects of learning and cognition. Topics covered include
games design, virtual, mixed and other realities, and applications of
online and mobile computing.

The course promotes both practical and theoretical insights, and offers
participants first-hand experience of research bridging laboratory
studies and real user contexts.

The Learning Sciences Research Institute offers an advanced environment
in which to pursue professional development. Its new facilities include
a Flexible Learning Room and Usability Lab. There is easy access to
further exemplary resources including the award-winning Mixed Reality
Lab.

LSRI's links with networks in Europe and worldwide will allow you to
benefit from interactions with leaders in technology, policy, learning,
entertainment and educational sectors, becoming part of a growing
international learning sciences community.

You should have or expect to gain at least a 2.1 in an undergraduate
degree in Psychology, Computer Science, and Education or in an
appropriate discipline. International students are encouraged to apply
and should have an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
