                 The 7th International Workshop on
Network and Operating System Support for Digital Audio and Video

                          NOSSDAV'97

                    St. Louis, Missouri, USA

                         May 19-21, 1997

Registrations for NOSSDAV'97 are now being accepted.

The 7th International Workshop on Network and Operating Systems Support
for Digital Audio and Video (NOSSDAV 97) is the international workshop
concerned with state of the art technology in networking and operating
system support for multimedia systems. For seven years, NOSSDAV has
proven to be an outstanding forum for researchers involved in building
innovative multimedia systems, networks and applications on both the
research and industrial front. Other topics that will be examined include
"middleware" for multimedia, media toolkits, mobile communications,
Virtual Reality (VR), real-time systems, software agents, digital libraries,
and other digital media besides audio and video.

A key aspect of the workshop is that it provides extensive discussion
periods during which attendees can informally discuss their current
work and future research directions. Traditionally, NOSSDAV has
emphasized on high quality experimental research that prototypes
systems to explore innovative solutions to the problems in the diverse
areas of multimedia computing. NOSSDAV97 will continue this tradition.

A sample of the sessions to be held at the workshop include:
        Multicast for Multimedia
Networking: Packet Scheduling and Integrated Services
        Multimedia-on-Demand (MOD) Servers and Services
        Smoothing and Scaling on Endsystems
        Mobility and Wireless
        Operating System Optimizations
        Middleware for Multimedia

To maintain the atmosphere of a small intense workshop, attendance is
once again being limited to 80.

Spots at the workshop are being reserved for one author per paper and
Program Committee members until April 10th. All other registration requests
will be accepted on a first come first served basis. After April 10th any
other requests that previously could not be immediately accepted will be
confirmed if space is available.

Presenting Authors and PC Members should register as soon as possible!!

On line registration and workshop program information can be accessed
from the NOSSDAV97 web page:
        http://www.arl.wustl.edu/arl/NOSSDAV97/

The workshop will be held at Innsbrook Estates. Located approximately 45
minutes from the St. Louis airport, Innsbrook Estates has everything you
would like in a resort: 18-hole golf course, 18-hole miniature
course, swimming pool, a 150 acre lake, sailing, fishing,
