Some brief details of the programme follow:
The programme offers the opportunity to study broadly within Ergonomics
which itself draws on a multi-disciplinary background. The programme
provides the basis to become an Ergonomics practitioner and is concerned
with ergonomics methods and applications as well as research methods such
as gathering and use of data.

For those with relevant backgrounds, there are options available to extend
the experience gained and to avoid repetitious study. This could include
modules concerned with socio-technical systems, Human Factors and HCI .....

The programme typically offers study in systems ergonomics, ergonomics in
production systems, the physical environment, design of equipment and
workplace, safety and health, data acquisition and analysis, psychology and
anatomy and physiology. It includes industrial visits and insight into
professional practice in addition to classroom and practical teaching.

There is one major research project leading to a dissertation. As
Loughborough is a major Ergonomics centre, there is a wide range of
research opportunity. Many projects are undertaken on behalf of a sponsor
(e.g. industrial partner) and can be undertaken away from the University
(this can be of interest to part-time students in employment).

Graduates can register with the Ergonomics Society.
