                 Call for Contributions

Behaviour Tracking for Adaptive Assistive Environments
                       – BeTAA –

A workshop held in the frame of the PETRA conference,
            July 15-19, 2008, Athens, Greece

             Paper deadline: 30 March 2008

Automatic behaviour tracking is of particular importance for
supporting elderly or mentally impaired persons. Since these persons
often aren’t willing or able to talk about their daily activities or
to actively keep track of those, it is important to develop
assistive technologies that do this for them, that can provide this
information to medical staff, carers, family members and other
stakeholders as appropriate, and that can act upon this information
in an adaptive way.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners
who work on behaviour tracking at either the sensor, algorithmic, or
application level.

We solicit contributions to the following topics:
- Technologies for
     - Location tracking
     - Gesture and motion tracking
     - Sensing of affect, emotion, cognitive state
- Analysis for
     - inferring behaviour from multimodal data
     - Sensor fusion
     - Feature extraction
     - Data analysis
- Applications for
     - Behaviour based assistance
     - Behaviour based environment adaptation
     - Inclusion of carers and other socially important persons

... particularly in the context of support for elderly or mentally
impaired people.
