Job Description
GE Information Services, Inc. is currently seeking a Usability Testing Te=
am Leader for our Rockville, Maryland usability lab.  Usability testing a=
nd
  evaluation is an integral part of our development cycle.  Our group eva=
luates network applications such as e-mail, EDI, and Information Services=

  documentation, on-line help, and end-user training materials using vari=
ous usability testing methods and heuristic evaluations.

As a Usability Testing Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
=FA Acting as the primary business contact for scheduling activities in t=
he lab;
=FA Project planning and prioritization (including resource allocation) f=
or lab activities;
=FA Designing and conducting usability tests in the Rockville lab and at =
client sites;
=FA Analyzing and reporting test results;
=FA Conducting heuristic evaluations;
=FA Producing and prioritizing recommendations for improving usability pr=
oblems;
=FA Delivering test results/recommendations to cross-functional product d=
evelopment teams and software vendors;
=FA Producing "highlights" videotapes as appropriate;
=FA Coaching graduate student interns and junior members of the team in p=
erform usability evaluation activities.

Requirements
=FA Masters (Ph.D. preferred) in experimental psychology, human factors, =
or related field
=FA 2+ years experience in usability testing and evaluation
=FA Demonstrated experimental design/behavioral observation skills includ=
ing knowledge of various usability testing methods
=FA Understanding of the software development process
=FA Demonstrated leadership ability as well as being a strong team player
=FA Ability to effectively manage many detailed activities in a dynamic e=
nvironment
=FA Good written and oral communication skills
=FA Experience with web-based applications and various web browsers
=FA Knowledge of GUI platform standards
=FA Experience with SAS or SPSS
=FA Knowledge of MS-Access helpful
