=================// CALL FOR PAPERS //=================
---------------- Workshop Information -----------------
Title: IEEE ISMAR 2015 Workshop on Human Perception
and Psychology in Augmented Reality
URL: http://hpparworkshop2015.com
Workshop Date: Tuesday, 29 September, 2015
Paper Submission Deadline: Monday, 20 July, 2015
Location: Fukuoka, Japan co-located with the 14th
IEEE International Symposium on Mixed
and Augmented Reality (ISMAR)
--------------------- Details -------------------------
With the convergence of historical advances in
Augmented Reality (AR) techniques with small and
affordable technologies (e.g., sensors, displays, and
input devices) we are on the threshold of AR
becoming an effective tool for many applications and
even everyday life. Traditional AR research has
focused on creating technologies, algorithms, and
techniques to achieve demonstrations that we evaluate
with engineering benchmarks, such as performance of a
tracking system, photorealism of the graphics, and
human performance completing a task. There have been
very few investigations into questions such as the
following:
• How do users perceive AR information?
• How does the physical environment/context affect
the perception of AR information?
• Is AR information perceived the same or different
than the physical environment?
• Do Virtual Reality (VR) concepts such as
“presence,” “immersion,” and “place illusion” have
counterparts in AR?
• Can AR affect the behavior and psychology of
users?
Example topics in the context of AR include:
• Cognitive, Behavioral, and Social psychology;
• Human perception;
• Neuroscience; and
• Technological relationships to the above.
As this workshop is focused on the future of this
field, we encourage positional papers to be
submitted.
--------------- Submission Guidelines -----------------
The length of the papers will be 6 to 8 pages.
The format of the papers will follow the ISMAR
short paper submission guidelines for all
categories except for S&T Full papers found at
