**********************************************

SCOPE

Held in conjunction with 2012 ACM MobiSys, the Ph.D. Forum provides a
friendly and supportive environment for doctoral students to present and
discuss their dissertation research both with their peers and with a
panel of experienced researchers from academia and industry. In addition
to providing feedback and advice, this forum will provide an opportunity
for students to network as well as to practice presenting their research
clearly and concisely.

This meeting is best suited to students who are far enough into their
Ph.D. to have a concrete dissertation proposal outlining the key
challenges they plan to solve as well as the strategies and
methodologies that are applicable.

2012 MobiSys Ph.D. Forum Best Speaker Award will be awarded to the best
presentation at the Forum.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Submissions should consist of the following:
* An extended abstract of the student’s dissertation research (up to 2
pages) including a brief discussion of motivation, challenges, related
work, and initial results. Applicants should clearly identify their
contributions to the field of mobile systems. Also, a clear delineation
of prior work and proposed work will help the panel provide more useful
suggestions.

* A short biographical sketch (1 page maximum) describing the applicants
affiliations and research activities. This should include the date that
the student expects to complete his or her dissertation.

Submissions should be sent in PDF format to [log in to unmask] If
accepted, a student may be asked to provide explanations or
clarification by the camera-ready deadline. Note that the submissions
will not be formally published, but hardcopies will be made available to
