CHI 2012 - It's the Experience!

The ACM SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the 
premier international conference on human-computer interaction. The 
experience of CHI 2012 is centered in vibrant Austin, Texas, the Live 
Music Capital of the World.

UPCOMING DEADLINE: 7 October 2011

7 October is the deadline for workshop proposals, panels, case studies 
and the doctoral consortium.

* Workshop Proposals *
Workshops are held the weekend before the start of the conference, on 
Saturday and Sunday, May 5 & 6, 2012. A workshop may be one or two days 
in length.

* Panels *
Panels are 80-minute sessions that involve significant interaction with 
audience members. Effective panels have been designed in many forms and 
formats

* Case Studies *
Case Studies provide an excellent means of presenting results that 
address particular phenomena, especially in real-world contexts.

* Doctoral Consortium *
We invite students who feel they would benefit from this kind of 
feedback on their dissertation work to apply for this unique opportunity 
to share their work with students in a similar situation as well as 
senior researchers in the field.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER LOTTERY: register before 20 October 2011

Interested in being a Student Volunteer at CHI? You can get into the SV 
lottery by going to http://chisv.org starting September 19th and 
continuing right up until the conference.  The lottery drawing will 
happen on October 20th, when 120 students will be given spots and the 
rest will go on the wait list. Signing up before the drawing is crucial 
as anyone who registers after October 20th up until the date of the 
conference goes to the end of the wait list.
