Whole Body Interaction in Games and Entertainment

The 4th International Workshop on Whole Body Interaction

8th November 2011, Lisbon Portugal,

ACM ACE conference, http://www.ace2011.org/

  http://lister.cms.livjm.ac.uk/homepage/staff/cmsdengl/WBI2011/

Whole Body Interaction has evolved over recent international workshops to investigate richer forms of interaction involving movement, physiology, cognition, emotion and social context. Whole Body Interaction provides a framework for the design, engineering and research of theories and approaches to involving the whole person in interaction. In this workshop we concentrate on Whole Body Interaction in Games and Entertainment. We call for position papers in the following (non-exclusive) topics

  * Design approaches bridging motion and other user capabilities

  * Engineering models of Whole Body Interaction

  * Multiple sensor and device engineering

  * Future consoles for Whole Body Interaction

  * Case Studies in Advanced Games and Entertainment Interaction

  * Integrating Emotion in Games and Entertainment

  *   Natural User Interfaces

Authors are asked to submit position papers of 4-6 pages on the above and related topics. Papers will be selected for the relevance and timeliness. Papers should be in the ACM Extended Abstracts format. Accepted authors must commit to attending the workshop. The workshop will focus around initial presentation of position papers before moving on to discussion of wider issues to establish the future research direction of the area. Accepted papers will be archived in the ACM Digital Library, and published in the workshop proceedings.
