                         CALL FOR DEMOS/POSTERS

                  ACM Symposium on Software Visualization

                               SOFTVIS '03

                     June 11-13, 2003, San Diego, USA
                         Collocated with FCRC'03

          Sponsored by ACM SIGCHI, SIGGRAPH, SIGPLAN and SIGSOFT,
                   and in cooperation with ACM SIGCSE.

======================================================================

Software visualization encompasses the development and evaluation of
methods for graphically representing different aspects of software,
including its structure, its abstract and concrete execution, and its
evolution. The goal of this symposium is to provide a forum for
researchers from different backgrounds (HCI, software engineering,
programming languages, visualization, computer science education) to
discuss and present original research on software visualization.

SoftVis '03 is the first meeting in a planned series of biennial
conferences. Our objective is to make the SoftVis series the premier
venue for presenting all types of research on software visualization.

Submission information
======================

We seek both demos of software visualization systems and posters about
software visualization research for a joint demo and poster session
during the conference. Authors of accepted demos should bring their
own equipment to demonstrate their system. Authors of accepted
posters should bring a poster highlighting the research. Both will be
presented during an informal session in which conference attendees
will be able to browse and discuss the projects. For students, a
special student-focused poster session will be held during the parent
FCRC conference on the evening before SoftVis begins as well.

To submit a poster or demo, you should prepare and electronically
submit a brief overview paper. Papers must be in standard ACM
2-column format and cannot exceed 2 pages in total length. Authors
should send a PDF file of their submission to [log in to unmask] by
Friday April 18, 2003. For student posters, please indicate this
status in the email message. Informal copies of all the accepted
demo/poster papers will be distributed to the conference attendees so
this will not be an "official" publication.

Venue
=====
SoftVis '03 is affiliated with the ACM Federated Computing Research
Conference, a collection of symposia occurring June 7-14 in San Diego, CA.
