HCI International 2019

Due to multiple requests from prospective authors, the *deadline for 
paper submissions* for HCI International 2019, the 21st International 
Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, *has been extended* from 
Friday 12 October to *Friday 26 October 2018*:

  * *26 October 2018, *paper proposals (extended deadline - an abstract
    of 800 words is required)
  * *1 February 2019, *poster proposals (an abstract of 300 words is
    required)
  * *12 April 2019, *student design proposals (an abstract of 300 words
    and a video clip are required)
  * *any time until 30 April 2019*, demonstrations (an abstract of 300
    words is required)

HCII 2019 will be held under the auspices of 18 distinguished 
international boards, expecting to attract over 2,000 participants from 
more than 70 countries around the world. Please visit the Conference 
website for the list of topics of each Thematic Area / Affiliated 
Conference.

The Conference Proceedings 
<http://2019.hci.international/proceedings> will be published by 
Springer in a multi-volume set. Papers will appear in volumes of the 
Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and Lecture Notes in Artificial 
Intelligence (LNAI) series. Poster Extended Abstracts will be published 
in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series.

An award <http://2019.hci.international/awards> will be presented to the 
best paper of each of the HCII 2019 Thematic Areas / Affiliated 
Conferences and the best poster extended abstract.

The Program for Student Volunteers 
<http://2019.hci.international/student-volunteers> gives full time 
university students from around the world the opportunity to attend and 
contribute to one of the most prestigious conferences in the field of 
computing and HCI. The deadline for applications receipt is 21 January 2019.

During the Conference Exhibition 
<http://2019.hci.international/exhibition> attendees will be able to 
examine state-of-the-art HCI technology and interact with 
representatives of manufacturers, vendors, publishers, and potential 
employers.

*Keynote Speech*

Richard H. R. Harper <https://www.rhrharper.com/>, Co-director, 
Institute for Social Futures and Professor, School of Computing and 
Communications at Lancaster University, United Kingdom, will give the 
Keynote Speech <http://2019.hci.international/keynote-speech> during the 
Opening Plenary Session on Sunday, 28 July 2019, 18:00 hrs.

The title of his speech will be "Understanding AI, Understanding 
Interaction: the Future of HCI”.
