                Special Interest Groups (SIGs) at
                 CHI 2002, Minneapolis, Minnesota
                         21-22 April 2002

SIGs are a great opportunity to meet people who share your interests and
to learn more about other approaches related to "your" topic area. As
SIGs have a very informal structure focusing on interactive and lively
discussion they provide a great chance to come in touch with researchers
and practitioners from different areas of the world to build new
collaborations and form new perspectives.

At the CHI 2002 conference, 20 SIGs will provide discussion platforms
for a variety of interresting and challenging topics. The complete SIG
progam can be found at the end of this email. In addition, we provide
the program, including descriptions of SIGs, on the web page
         http://www.chiplace.org/conf/sigs-prog.jsp

Further information will be provided by posters in the Commons section
describing the topics in more detail and how organizers will run their
SIGs.

In addition, CHI 2002 gives you the opportunity to organize your own
informal SIG. Please see the above web site of the formal SIG program
for information on the topics covered. You can sign up for informal SIG
meeting space at the beginning of the conference at the SIGs bulletin
board in the Commons.
