The IEEE Haptics Symposium is a conference of multidisciplinary research
relating to the human sense of touch. Held since 1992, it has become a
vibrant forum where psychophysicists, engineers, and designers come
together to share advances, spark new collaborations, and envision a
future that benefits from rich physical interactions between humans and
computers, facilitated by haptic technology.
In 2016, we are celebrating almost 25 years of multidisciplinary
research relating to the human sense of touch, and we are excited to
have Kenneth Salisbury and Roberta Klatzky as plenary speakers. The
conference will begin with a full day of workshops and tutorials on
Friday, April 8, and will include three days of oral presentations of
technical papers, hands-on demonstrations, exhibits, a poster session of
work-in-progress papers, and a student innovation challenge.
Registration will include a welcome reception and a banquet at the
National Constitution Center. Technical tours will be offered in the
evening of Monday, April 11, including visits to the world-famous Penn
GRASP Lab.
