Hi Aridane, Alfredo, Enrique, Carmen, Nerea, Peter, Javier, and Barry, thank you all for the great comments. I just want to tell you the result of our little discussion: It is 4 to 4 -- with good reasons for both sides. Luckily, UI design is not about democracy. I decided to localize the shortcuts for the Spanish version of OpenOffice.org 2.0. See specification for details[1]. The main reason that drove the decision is the conformance with the Spanish version of MSOffice. We want to welcome MS's users if they consider a move to OpenOffice.org, or to StarOffice respectively. Breaking unconscious motor habits does not support this effort. kind regards Matthias [1] as OpenOffice Document: <http://specs.openoffice.org/g11n/menus/LocalizedShortcuts.sxw>http://specs.openoffice.org/g11n/menus/LocalizedShortcuts.sxw as PDF: <http://specs.openoffice.org/g11n/menus/LocalizedShortcuts.sxw>http://specs.openoffice.org/g11n/menus/LocalizedShortcuts.pdf -- Matthias Müller-Prove User Experience Engineer Sun Microsystems http://www.openoffice.org/ http://www.sun.com/staroffice/ http://www.mprove.net
