ECML/PKDD Summer School (EPSS19) on Machine Learning and Data Mining - Kind reminder of the deadline for applications
(01.07.)
Call for Participation

ECML/PKDD Summer School (EPSS19) on Machine Learning and Data Mining for Geo-Spatial Data/Volunteered Geographic
Information, Quality of Experience and Human-Computer Interaction

Application phase ends in one week (deadline: 01.07.2019)
Details on concrete lectures have been updated (http://ecmlpkdd2019.org/summerschool/programme/#lectures)

https://ecmlpkdd2019.org/summerschool/home/, September 11th-16th, 2019, Würzburg, Germany
Machine learning and data mining techniques have become one of the main analysis, modeling and prediction tools for a
multitude of application scenarios. The EPSS19 provides extensive foundations in state-of-the-art methods covering basic
concepts as well as deep neural networks and automated machine learning. At the same time, the summer school features
tracks to delve deeper into three fields of application: geo-spatial data and volunteered geographic information,
quality of experience, and human-computer interaction.

Participants will take part in joint lectures on basic concepts as well as in one of three tracks for the fields of
application. Besides the theoretical background, a core part of the summer school comprises hands-on sessions and group
work on concrete research topics supervised by a tutor.

Any practitioner and Ph.D. student interested in machine learning and data mining is invited. You will find our program
especially interesting if you are working in the field of geo-spatial data, volunteered geographical information,
human-computer interaction, natural interfaces, virtual-, augmented-, and mixed reality, social robots, quality
assessment, subjective user studies and real-time interactive systems.

The summer school will take place in Würzburg, Germany from September 11th-16th, 2019. The application for the summer
school closes July 1st, 2019 or if the maximum number of participants (30) per track is reached. The participation fee
for the summer school is 250 Euro.
