Hi,
It depends upon, what you consider to be a welcome message.
Usually, a welcome message should provide sufficient details to determine
the goal of using this product, the target audience, and expected benefits.
It may be textual, iconic, pictoral or any other modes/multi
modal....ensuring a proper link between the concept model of the designer
and the mental model of the user.
Thanks and Regards,
