Hal, a friend of mine recently created a great set of online training videos
for a graphics application he designed. I believe he used Camtasia.
Personally I'm a little impatient for videos (as a user). But he kept them
short, task-oriented, and they are pretty darn good. For an application
that's used intensively, Matt's suggestion is a good one to consider. I'd be
happy to put you in touch with my friend if you wish. (No relation to the

In cases where it's difficult to make those features apparent, consider
providing links to "just in time training" - video recordings or similar
that help the user understand the technology. You might also consider
a training web site, or similar where users can go to learn about how
to accomplish given tasks.
