Denny Adelman asked: Is it plausible to hope that the FAQ can be classified
as something different
than poorly done docs?

The demonisation of FAQs reminds of a similar view that some people have of
"What's This?" Help (the help available in Windows apps via the question
mark icon in the title bar of a dialog box). Just because many FAQs and
What's This Help topics are done poorly doesn't mean that these forms of
doco aren't a good thing. You just have to write them well and as Maxwell
Smart would say, "use them for good rather than evil" :-)

Cheers

Stewart
