I asked about software for producing synchronized subtitles from a
transcript.
The answer I was looking for ('cause I forgot the name) was Virage
(www.virage.com) , suggested by Jeffery Reid [jeff at jefferyreid.com].
This is an enterprise-level solution, although the component I saw
demonstrated on an intranet earlier in the year looked ideal for
individual authors as well.
Alex Kane [alex at alexkane.net] suggested youtube, which indeed has a
subtitle resources page at http://bit.ly/95Bmx
Antoni Dol [Antoni.Dol at macaw.nl] said that Microsoft Expression
Encoder will also do this - http://www.microsoft.com/Expression
Thanks to all!

William Hudson
