What, exactly, makes the site cool?  The animation?  The emphasis on
images rather than text?  The retro color palette?

Is there any reason why the usability issues couldn't be addressed
without compromising the spirit of the site? (I agree with those who
think it's possible to buy shoes over the 'net.)
