Call For Papers: Special Issue on Identity Protection and Management
Elsevier Information Security Technical Report (ISTR)

Motivation

The increasing move to online business and e-government requires management of various aspects of peoples’ identities on information systems.
Usernames, passwords, personal profiles, social security numbers, patient identifiers, e-mail addresses, credit card numbers, etc. are used to
uniquely identify individuals. Many of these identifiers are highly mobile, and spread into many information systems and purposes. As a result,
individuals increasingly leave trails of personal data when using the Internet, which allow them to be profiled and which persist for long periods of
time. At the same time, trends such as Cloud Computing make it increasingly difficult for both information managers and individuals to control and
manage this personal information. To make systems more usable for both individuals and information managers, Identity Management systems are needed
that are interoperable and can be reused in multiple systems. In addition, as a result of increasing cyber fraud and cyber terrorism, the demand for
better technical methods of identification is growing, not only in companies and organisations but also in the world at large.

This special issue on Identity Protection and Management is intended to bring forth the recent advancements in this area. Original and unpublished
contributions covering, but not limited to, the following and related issues concerning Identity Management and Privacy are solicited. Extended
editions of published conference papers are also welcome.
