Virtual Forum: January 10 to January 31, 2021
Virtual Live Session: 21:00 to 23:00, January 19, 2021 (JST = UTC+09)
Forum Website: https://personal.ntu.edu.sg/liu/SRF@ASPDAC2021
Aims of the Forum
The Student Research Forum at the ASP-DAC is renovated from a traditional poster session hosted by ACM SIGDA for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their dissertation research with experts in system design and design automation community. Starting from 2015, the forum includes both Ph.D. and M.S. students, offering great opportunities for the students to establish contacts for their future career. In addition, the forum helps the companies and academic institutes to get an overview of the latest research and discover the extraordinary candidates for their employment.
SRF@ASP-DAC 2021 will be held as a virtual forum for the first time due to COVID-19. The forum is composed of 28 excellent posters from Asia, Europe and North America and 2 industry talks. The forum welcomes all students, professors and industrial professionals from the relevant research community. The forum is free of charge.
Timeline
The forum will be organized in two components:
- January 10 to January 31, 2021: text-based discussion (posters and pre-recorded video presentations are available)
- January 19, 2021: a two-hour live session including award ceremony at 21:00 to 23:00 (JST = UTC+09)
Technical Sessions
There are 28 high-quality posters selected from 7 countries/regions, 26 of which from the "With Publication" Track and 2 from the "Without Publication" Track.
In addition to a poster, each student presenter has pre-recorded a short video in up to 2 minutes to briefly summarize the thesis and a long video in up to 20 minutes to elaborate it in detail. Participants could watch the short videos to get the main ideas and contributions efficiently while further watch the long videos to know more details if interested. The posters and videos are accessible from January 10 to January 31, 2021 (free registration is needed).
The technical program is available at the forum website.
Industry Talks
There are two industry talks given by Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Synopsys, Inc. during the live session on January 19, 2021.
Free registration
It is unfortunate that we cannot meet in Japan this time, but the safety and well-being of all forum participants are our top priority. As a virtual forum for the first time, we will adopt Microsoft Teams as an integrated online platform of the forum. The following functions are provided in the integrated platform:
- Sharing of posters and pre-recorded presentation videos
- Text-based discussion
- Video/audio-based interactive meeting and screen sharing
The forum is free of charge, but registration is needed to join the Microsoft Teams-based online platform for security considerations (a Microsoft personal/enterprise account is needed). Information on attendee registration and forum participation can be found at the forum website.
Participation
The online platform will be made accessible by all the forum attendees from January 10 to January 31, 2021. You can read the posters, watch the videos and communicate with the student presenters by sending them text messages.
There will be a two-hour online live session during 21:00-23:00, January 19, 2021 (JST = UTC+09). The time is selected to fit worldwide attendees including professors and students from Asia, Europe and North America. The student presenters of the posters will attend the live session.
