ACII Interactive event and Demonstrations
Deadline extension : May 6, 2013, 23:59 PST

The ACII 2013 Interactive Event Session serves as a forum for researchers and practitioners to showcase recent advances in affective computing applications and new forms of intelligent interactions. The aim of this session is to demonstrate innovative affective technologies and show the large scope covered by these technologies. The presenters will have the opportunity to discuss their systems with a broad international scientific community and possibly to showcase them in front of the public. Two-page Interactive Event papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Following the theme of the ACII conference we particularly encourage the submission of demonstrations and interactive events applied the domain of the arts although the call remains open to any application domain. Demonstrations including some experimental component (for instance for the system validation) will be preferred. The demos will showcase both systems close to end-products and prototypes. Innovative commercialized products are accepted provided that they were not previously described in scientific proceedings.

Submission for the interactive demos
Interactive demo proposals can be submitted at any time until May 6, 2013. They will be selected based on a number of factors including scientific contribution, originality and innovation, social impact, potential for widespread usage and ultimately the adequation to the ACII theme "the emotions and the art".
Demonstrations should be accompanied by reasonably detailed technical explanations of the methods used. More specifically your initial submission should include one document with three sub-sections described below.
- A two-page paper for inclusion in the ACII 2013 proceedings. The document should include (a) a brief description of the system and the problem it attempts to address, (b) a summary of the technical content of the system, (c) results of a formal evaluation (if applicable) or of an experiment to be carried out during the demonstration (if applicable).
- If possible they should be accompanied by the URL of a site where a live version or video of the proposed demo is available.
- A detailed description of the technical set-up and requirements. By default, the conference will provide a table and two chairs for each demo. Special requirements regarding the hardware and software, used modalities, space, and infrastructure (such as power supplies, network access, etc) need to be explicitly mentioned in the submission. We will attempt to provide necessary equipment and infrastructure, but demonstrators will be required to provide their own computers and special-purpose equipment.

The procedure to send the Interactive Event Proposal is available on the conference website: http://www.acii2013.org/.
Please note that authors are required to show live demos of their systems. Other formats of demonstration such as video clips or slide shows may be accepted in exceptional cases only.

Important dates
May 6, 2013: Interactive demo proposal submission
May 27, 2013: Acceptance notification
17 June 2013: Deadline for final camera-ready papers submission
